Starting from week 19, many pregnant women finally have a long-awaited event - they can clearly feel the first movements of the baby inside themselves! These light, yet almost indistinguishable shocks will give you a huge range of emotions, because you can already physically feel your baby!

Changes in the body at 19 weeks of gestation

At this time, your figure has already changed significantly - the tummy is clearly visible under the clothes, and the breast has also increased. The placenta is also growing, and the weight of the uterus is already about 320 g, and you can even feel its bottom a little higher than the navel. Due to the enlarged uterus, pressure increases on the diaphragm, as well as on the intestines. This can lead to difficulty breathing and disruption of the gastrointestinal tract. The kidneys are also subjected to increased stress, which leads to the accumulation of fluid in the body and the appearance of edema.

The condition of the fetus at 19 weeks of gestation

The kid inside you continues to develop actively - at the nineteenth week his height reaches almost 25 cm, and weight - 230 grams. He had already formed the beginnings of molars, and also formed the phalanges of the fingers on the arms and legs. An individual print pattern has even loomed on the fingertips!

An important achievement of your child at this time is his ability to hear sounds and respond to them. Therefore, you can start reading him fairy tales and singing lullabies - the sound of my mother’s voice has a very favorable effect on the emotional state of the baby. Also at this time, a generic lubricant begins to form from the hair of the hair and skin cells, which partially covers the body of the fetus with a white-pink layer.

The endocrine glands of the baby are already beginning to be included in the processes occurring in the small body, and actively produce hormones. The spleen is connected to the blood circulation process, helping in this bone marrow and liver.

Possible sensations at 19 weeks of gestation

As for the physical sensations of a woman in the nineteenth week of pregnancy, they are not always pleasant, except, of course, the first tremors of the child, to which you can listen endlessly! Otherwise, increased volumes of the abdomen lead to increased loads on many organ systems: the circulatory system, the gastrointestinal tract, and the urethra. At this time, you may feel pain in the back and legs, heaviness in the stomach, difficulty breathing. To alleviate the condition, try to eat right, wear comfortable clothes that do not constrain movement, shoes with low heels. Watch your posture and, if possible, perform simple complexes of physical exercises.

Your mental state is also changing - you experience a complex range of feelings and emotions. This is the joy of the upcoming motherhood, and the awareness of the significance of your mission to bear a child, and the feeling of limitless happiness from already tangible tactile communication with your child. At the same time, you are beginning to be overcome with fears about the upcoming birth, so try to fill your day with pleasant impressions.

Necessary medical supervision

The nineteenth week of bearing a child is characterized by a possible risk of placental abruption, so if you notice bleeding, consult a doctor immediately! Also, during this period, you may have problems with blood pressure, so the nurse in the antenatal clinic is required to regularly measure it. During a visit to the antenatal clinic, the doctor, among other things, will examine your legs for edema, and, if necessary, give appropriate recommendations. And, of course, no one canceled the regular passing of blood and urine tests - this makes it possible to monitor the level of sugar in the body.

General recommendations

Since your baby is actively growing and developing, you must ensure that for this he has all the necessary trace elements and vitamins. Enrich your diet with fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as dishes prepared with the maximum of their beneficial properties.

Try to walk for at least two hours daily - this will help saturate the lungs with oxygen, which your baby really needs! Provide yourself a good rest and gather strength, because very soon you will need them!

My husband and I just do that we listen to the baby’s movements)) He even kicked a dad in the ear already))) Besides these sensations, there’s nothing. Moreover, some pain, nausea and other things. A very wonderful period, continuous enjoyment)))

My husband strictly forbade to do an ultrasound more than expected ... But I have some concern ... It seems to be based on nothing ... Maybe it's just because of pregnancy these fears. I hope that everything is fine, I try to communicate more with pregnant women, but there are enough of them in my environment))
