This product is called magical and it is believed that it helps in everything: from joint pain to skin rejuvenation. Is bone broth a magical fluid that needs to be added to your diet, or is its miraculous properties clearly exaggerated? Even if you are skeptical of this dish, its popularity cannot be denied. Although bone broth has been used in Chinese medicine for millennia, it has gained a reputation as a superfood for health and wellness only a few years ago.

The reason is simple. The broth fits perfectly into the program of two incredibly popular approaches to nutrition: keto diet and paleo diet. It is usually cooked over low heat, boiling animal bones with vegetables, spices and herbs for a long period of time.

The resulting nutrient fluid contains anti-inflammatory amino acids, bioavailable minerals and collagen. Such components of the broth relieve joint pain and arthritis symptoms, strengthen bones, support immunity and promote good bowel function.

In addition, the broth improves skin condition due to the presence of collagen, a truly magical protein, which is highly regarded for its ability to increase skin elasticity and rejuvenate it. Collagen production decreases with age, and this is especially noticeable by 40 years. Therefore, by consuming collagen-rich bone broth, you nourish your body and skin.

A close connection exists between the intestines and the skin - and this is true. Food allergies, for example, may appear on the skin as a rash. Unfortunately, there is no exact way to determine which nutrients are being sent. In the same way that eating fat does not directly affect body fat, so eating collagen does not mean an increase in its level in skin tissues. In other words, the broth does not deliver collagen directly to the skin, however much we would like to.

However, collagen (like other proteins) is split into amino acids and transported to that body tissue where it is most needed. As you understand, no one can guarantee you that after a glass of broth all the collagen will go straight to the wrinkle network near your eyes. Nutrients first go to more important organs: the heart, brain, and liver. As a result, hair, skin, and nails are usually the places where changes can be immediately noticed, as nutrients get to them last.

So, even if bone broth does not necessarily benefit the skin, this does not mean that it is harmful to the body. It has a lot of protein - and this is a huge plus! But, most likely, this is not the magic elixir that the beauty industry makes you believe in. It is just a very good product.

If you still believe in the super effect of bone broth, then try to make it at home. It will be a solid and satisfying dish. The main thing is not to buy semi-finished products and other surrogates in the store where sugar, sodium and artificial colors are present. If you are ready to support a fashionable food trend, then be patient and start cooking.
