Repeshka - general description

Repeshka (lat. Agrimonia eupatoria) is a plant widely known in folk medicine. It has a lot of names, including burdock, burdock, strawberry, lepilator, common love spell and even forty-bow, that is, a remedy for forty ailments. Repeshka is a perennial plant of the Rosaceae family. It has a straight strong stalk from 50 to 100 cm high, covered with shaggy hairs, and a straight thick root.

The leaves of the leaf are intermittently pinnate dark green with a grayish tint. The flowers are small, yellow in color, collected in long spike-shaped inflorescences. Flowering occurs in the summer from June to August. In August, spherical and tenacious bristles form.

Repeshok - types and places of growth

The reposhka plant has a very wide distribution area. It is found everywhere in the middle lane of the European part of Russia, and it can also be seen in Central Asia, the Caucasus and the western regions of Siberia. Abroad, the onion grows in the Balkans, in the central and northern regions of Europe. It grows on the edges of forests, along roads, in urban wastelands, etc. The reposhka is unpretentious to soils; it does not tolerate only a thick shadow and strong boggy.

Repeshka - healing properties

Medicines based on repes are a remedy in folk medicine for a huge number of diseases. They are used as anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, expectorant, diaphoretic, choleretic and diuretic.

In addition, their hemostatic and blood-purifying effect is noted. Repeshka-based medicines are also used as an anthelmintic and allergy remedy. Among the diseases that traditional medicine proposes to treat with the help of a flare, include diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver (hepatitis, cirrhosis, etc.) and gall bladder, rheumatism, radiculitis, diseases of the kidneys and urinary tract (stones, urinary incontinence, etc.), gynecological diseases (tumors, erosion, etc.), asthma and other pulmonary diseases.

In addition, it can be used as a mild sedative, as it has the ability to calm the central nervous system and lower blood pressure. Such an extensive range of capabilities of the drug based on reposhka is directly dependent on its chemical composition. It includes: tannins, essential oils, glucose, fructose, polysaccharides, citric, malic, oxalic, tartaric and quinic acids, steroids, nitrogen compounds, catechins, flavonoids and phenol carboxylic acids.

Repeshka - dosage forms

In official Russian medicine, it is recommended to use only the aerial parts of the plant in dried ground form. Folk healers also use roots. The collection of plant materials should be carried out during the flowering period, best of all in July. Grass is dried naturally or in dryers, but at a temperature of no higher than 40 degrees.

Repeshka - recipes

A decoction of the leaves of the repes for the treatment of various kinds of bleeding is prepared from 2-4 tbsp. tablespoons of raw materials, filled with 500 ml of water. The broth should be boiled for 5 minutes, then cool, take 100 ml 4 times a day, slightly sweetened.

Flask infusion is prepared from 20-30 g of crushed dried raw material, filled with 1 liter of boiling water. Reception - 100-150 ml three times a day. The infusion is effective for diseases of the liver and stones in the gall bladder.

The powder is prepared from dry leaves, crushed in a mortar or ground in a coffee grinder. It is used for gastrointestinal disorders of 2-4 g per day in small portions.

A decoction of leaves for gargling with laryngitis, pharyngitis, stomatitis, etc., as well as for compresses for burns, eczema, dermatitis, hemorrhoids, are prepared from 100 g of raw materials and 1 liter of boiling water. The broth is evaporated to 1/3 of the volume, cool to 36-37 degrees, then apply.

A decoction from the roots of the plant is used for cancer of the internal organs and is prepared as follows: 1 tbsp. spoon dried crushed roots pour 200 ml of boiling water, keep for 30 minutes in a water bath, then 10 minutes to insist and strain. Reception - 70-80 ml 3 times a day half an hour before meals.

Repeshka - contraindications

Agrimony is not recommended for persons with individual intolerance to any of the components in its composition. Other absolute contraindications to the use of preparations based on repeshka have not been identified. With caution, they should be used with a tendency to constipation and hypotension.
