Can you imagine a modern fashionista without a manicure? Of course not. Any woman caring for herself pays special attention to her hands. Regular nail polish has long gone out of fashion, as it quickly loses its appearance and luster. What is the advantage of gel polish? How to operate such a coating? Let's get it right.

What is gel polish?

The entire nail industry turned upside down after the appearance of gel polish. After all, such a coating can stay on nails for an average of 2-3 weeks. And some fashionistas manage not to go for correction for 4-5 weeks.

Naturally, you should not exceed the recommended periods of “wearing” artificial turf, otherwise you risk tearing off the nail, or worsening its structure.

Gel polish is a duet of regular nail polish with a special strong gel. Manufacturers of a particular company are advised to do regular correction of nails, the periods between which vary from 2 to 4 weeks.

Some call gel polish shellac, in fact, this is the same thing, just the very first bottle of hybrid varnish was simply called shellac.

Benefits

Of course, gel polish “behaves” better on nails than nail polish. Consider some of the main advantages of this coating:

  • Gel polish easier to apply, since it does not dry in the air and makes it possible to carefully paint over the nail plate.
  • Using artificial turf can add a marigold thickness.
  • Gel polish not erased by slight mechanical and chemical effects.
  • Does not lose its shine.
  • Gel polish colors can be mixed among themselves for secondary and tertiary shades.

Housewives around the world are happy with this invention, because now they can safely wash the dishes, do wet cleaning, and their manicure will remain impeccable.

Kinds

Gel polishing involves applying three components: the base (base), color gel polish and topcoat (top). However, you can find substances that combine the functions of all these coatings. To begin with, we will consider three mandatory components for gel polish:

  • Base or base - It is a transparent or camouflage liquid, with which you can strengthen and smooth the surface of the nail plate. The base also helps protect the nail from exposure to a bright color coating.
  • Topcoat or top - It is a transparent liquid, which during polymerization can become glossy or dull. Some call the top a fixer, which is quite true, because it helps to keep the artificial turf securely. After drying, the finish leaves a sticky dispersion layer, which must be wiped with a degreaser. You can meet the finish without residual stickiness.

Gel polishes are distinguished by the method of application to the following types:

  • Single-phase gel polishes. Assume one phase of artificial coating. They consist of several compounds and perform the functions of gel polish, base and topcoat. Single-phase gel polish is applied in several layers, and depending on the pigmentation, it is necessary to control the thickness of such layers. Too thick a layer will not “dry out” in the lamp, and too thin may “bounce” from the edges of the nail plate.
  • Two-phase gel polishes. Consist of a color coating and a base or finish. For long wear it is important to add the missing third layer.
  • Three-phase gel polishes. The most popular type of artificial turf. Such a manicure is applied in 3 stages, first the base, then the standard three-phase gel polish, and on top everything is fixed with the finish. This option of manicure is particularly resistant coating.

For additional protection of artificial coating, nail masters got used to “seal” the end face of the nail with one layer of color and finish.

Features of “wearing” gel polish

The durability of a manicure depends not only on the quality of the coating, but also on you.

The nail master must perfectly cut the cuticle, process the side rollers and the free edge.

Also carefully prepare a natural nail. First, make a light filing in order to get rid of the glossy layer, then degrease the fingernail, apply a primer and start coating.

During a manicure, do not touch anything with the surface of the nails so as not to erase the layer of degreaser. If there are constant detachments in the cuticle area, then the reason is the quality of its cleaning, it is important to carefully remove dead skin tissue. Chips from the end occur most often with insufficient “sealing” of the free edge, as well as in the case of very thin nails.

Chips can be easily avoided using a little-known life hack.

First you need to turn the palm over to gain access to the free edge of the nail. Armed with a milling cutter and a ceramic milling cutter, it is necessary to cut off the free edge of a natural nail, without touching the artificial coating. Thus, there will be nothing to chip, only artificial material will remain at the end. For complete confidence, you can cover the inside of the nail with a finish.

If you have no questions about the technology of applying gel polish, then you should pay attention to your health and lifestyle. Often, hormonal disruptions provoke chips and gel polish detachments.

Due to the disease of the nail plate, the gel polish may peel off entirely from the entire nail. Each woman can ruin her manicure if it violates the integrity of the “sealed” butt, so you should not file and cut the free edge of the nail yourself.

There is a myth that immediately after applying gel polish, the nails should not be in contact with hot water. This is actually not the case.

Of course, very hot water is harmful to artificial turf, but a temperature comfortable for the body cannot harm your manicure. Excessive contact with the ultraviolet coating can distort the color of the gel polish, but it does not affect the wear period, so you do not need to wear gloves on the beach.

With beautiful nails, a woman feels more confident and attractive, so you need to pamper yourself and use the achievements of modern cosmetics.
