Cake "Log" - an unpretentious dessert that has a very simple technology. Especially if it is made from ordinary puff pastry. At the same time, the delicacy is very juicy, sweet and tender. Will we try?

Cake "Log" - the general principles of preparation

The simplest and fastest cooking cake is Puff Log. Ready dough is used for it. You just need to unfreeze it, cut the ribbon and bake. Next, from the obtained sticks, a cake is assembled, which is shaped into a log. All parts should be well lubricated with a cream that will make the dessert juicy and tender.

Creams for puff pastry cake made of puff pastry can be used any: cream, chocolate, coffee. Often nuts are added to the cake, and sometimes fruits and berries. Below is a recipe for homemade logs with cherries, for which you need to knead the dough yourself. The finished treat needs to be soaked, so make it better on the eve. Then the cake will surely turn out to be juicy, get stronger and will not disintegrate when sliced.

Puff pastry log

The simplest and most affordable recipe for the Polen cake is puff pastry, which tastes like the famous Napoleon, but it is prepared much easier and faster. For a small dessert, one package of yeast-free dough is enough.

Ingredients

• 0.5 kg of dough;

• 270 g of condensed milk;

• 340 g of oil;

• 15 ml of brandy.

Cooking

1. Immediately warm the stove to 220 degrees.

2. Expand the dough and cut into strips. The length is arbitrary, but the same between each other. The width of the ribbons is from 1 to 2 cm.

3. We lay the cooked strips and immediately send to bake, do not need to grease the puff pastry. Cook until rosy color for 10-15 minutes, it all depends on the presence of sugar or its absence. If the dough is sweetened, then it will fry faster.

4. We take out a baking sheet with chopsticks, remove the blanks, but not all. We leave a few pieces on a baking sheet. Put again in the oven and brown well. These parts will go for dusting.

5. Soften the oil, place it in a bowl, beat for about 10 minutes, gradually introduce condensed milk, then add cognac. You can just season the cream with vanilla.

6. We spread a piece of cling film on the table, put one layer of baked sticks, grease with cream. Cover with a second layer and so on. We form a log.

7. The remaining cream is removed in the refrigerator. Wrap the log in a film, keep it warm for an hour, then put it in the refrigerator, preferably all night.

8. We take out the frozen log, remove the film, put the dessert on the dish. Coat the remaining cream. If suddenly it is not, then you can simply cover with a layer of condensed milk.

9. Grind previously fried sticks of dough, sprinkle cake on top.

Puff log cake with coffee flavor

Variant of puff log cake, for which boiled condensed milk is used. Instant coffee is taken, but you can brew a saturated drink, it will be even tastier.

Ingredients

• packing of dough;

• 2 tsp instant coffee;

• a can of condensed milk;

• 1.5 packs of oil.

Cooking

1. As in the first recipe, preheat the oven, cut the dough into strips. It is not necessary to roll out the formation additionally. Bake the sticks, that is, the components of the log.

2. In coffee, add 40 ml of boiling water, stir, let stand. Drain the top layer of the drink, leaving the undissolved grains. Usually they are few. Or we prepare a saturated drink and simply pour 30-40 ml at our discretion. Since boiled condensed milk is used, the cream will not be liquid.

3. We immediately take the condensed milk or cook it in a jar on the stove, placing it in a pot with water. The process will take at least 2 hours.

4. We soften the butter and beat, gradually pour the coffee drink. Then add the condensed milk on a spoon. You can deepen the taste of the cream with a spoon of cognac, but this is not necessary.

5. We cool the sticks with cream of boiled condensed milk, wrap the log in a bag. Do not forget to leave a few crumbs for decoration.

6. Let the dessert lie in the refrigerator for 5-8 hours.

7. Remove the film, re-coat the log with cream, sprinkle with crushed crumbs from the same puff pastry. Gently shift to a serving dish.

Cherry Log Cake

This cake can also be prepared from puff pastry, but from home it turns out much tastier. You can take any cherry for straws: fresh, canned, frozen.

Ingredients

• 300 g sour cream;

• 5.5 tbsp. flour;

• 0.3 kg of oil (or margarine, but of high quality);

• 1100 g of cherries.

Cream:

• 800 g sour cream;

• 160 g of powder.

Chocolate for decoration.

Cooking

1. Chop the butter with a knife or a combine, mix with flour, add salt and add sour cream. Fat content does not matter much, but the amount of flour depends on the density. It will need more or less.

2. Knead the dough so that it can be rolled out with a rolling pin. But it should not be too tight. Divide into 12-15 parts, form small balls.

3. From the berries we take out the seeds. If the cherries are pickled, then you need to carefully strain the syrup.

4. Roll one piece into a rectangle with a side of about five centimeters, any length.

5. Put the cherries in one row, connect the edges to get a tube. We turn the sides inward so that the juice does not leak.

6. Spread on a baking sheet. In the same way we sculpt the remaining tubules for logs.

7. Bake at an average temperature for about half an hour (180 degrees). Cooling down.

8. Mix the powder with thick and fat sour cream.

9. We put in the tubes, lubricate with cream, form a log and wrap it with a film.

10. Further, according to the standard scheme: we cool, remove the film, additionally lubricate with cream. Rub chocolate and sprinkle logs.

Puff pastry cake with nuts

A nutty version of the delicious Puff Log Log cake. The dough is again used ready, without the addition of yeast. If it is not possible to use walnuts, then you can take peanuts. But peanuts require peeling from the dark film after roasting before grinding.

Ingredients

• 200 g of condensed milk;

• 1 pack of dough;

• 1 pack of oil;

• 1 cup nuts;

• 350 g sour cream;

• 1 tsp cognac;

• 40 g of chocolate.

Cooking

1. Cut the dough into ribbons of 1.5 cm wide, put on a baking sheet, bake until cooked.

2. While the tapes are baked and cooled, you need to fry the walnuts and chop with a knife. We pour half for the external decoration of the log.

3. Beat butter with condensed milk, combine with sour cream, season with cream brandy or pour a little vanilla. Together, it’s better not to add them.

4. Pour half the nuts into the cream.

5. We spread the cling film or an ordinary bag, lay out the log, each coat is well greased. Three ribbons left for crumbs.

6. Cool the log in the refrigerator for 3 hours.

7. Take out the cake, remove the film. Top with a fresh layer of cream, so that the topping sticks.

8. Grind the remaining strips of dough, add nuts and rub the chocolate there.

9. Sprinkle the cake with the prepared mixture and leave for a few more hours for complete impregnation.

Puff Log Cake with Chocolate Custard

Another variant of the delicious, but simple Cake "Puff Log." For its preparation, an amazing chocolate cream is used, reminiscent of the Nutella paste to taste, but the filling is much cheaper than the advertised goodies.

Ingredients

• A pack of dough;

• 400 ml of milk;

• 200 g of sugar;

• 1.5 l of flour;

• 3 l. cocoa;

• 2 yolks;

• 200 g of oil.

Cooking

1. Prepare strips of dough for logs. Cut the layer, spread on a baking sheet, bake. The process is described in detail in the recipes above.

2. Beat the yolks with half the sugar. Add the second part of the sand mixed with cocoa and flour, stir and pour the milk. We send to the stove, prepare a chocolate custard. Cooling down.

3. Soften the oil. You can add it immediately or pre-beat, the cream will be more magnificent. We mix.

4. We collect logs on cling film, smearing layers of baked sticks, twist the log and cool.

5. Lubricate the finished cake, you can not sprinkle with crumbs and leave the logs with chocolate, that is, with brown bark.

Chicken Dough Cake

Another variation of the "Log" cake, which is prepared from homemade dough. Dessert takes time, but it's worth it.

Ingredients

• 1.5 tbsp. water;

• 200 g cream;

• 200 g butter margarine or butter;

• 220 g butter in cream;

• 200 g of condensed milk;

• 1.5 tbsp. flour;

• 5 tablespoons of powder;

• 6 eggs;

• 150 g of chocolate + 20 ml of butter for glaze.

Cooking

1. Choux pastry. Salt water, combine with oil and boil. Pour the flour, quickly stir and remove from heat, cool a little, then add the eggs one at a time, stir well each time.

2. Squeeze out long sticks from the dough, about a centimeter wide. We leave a place between them, since the choux pastry during baking will increase in size.

3. Put in the oven, bake twigs at 200 degrees until rosy color. Leave to cool.

4. For cream, beat butter with condensed milk. Beat the cream separately with powdered sugar separately. To connect.

5. Lubricate the custard sticks to form a log. You can assemble a semi-log immediately on a dish or wrap it in a film, as is done in previous recipes.

6. Cool the cake for 5-6 hours, then proceed to decorate.

7. Recoat the log. Melt the chocolate, add 20 ml of vegetable oil.

8. Grease the cake with icing, you can additionally sprinkle with nuts.

Cake log - useful tips and tricks

• In order to avoid problems with laying logs, you need to immediately make sticks that are suitable in size to the dish for laying the cake.

• If there are not enough crumbs for sprinkling, you can take crushed cookies, nuts, grated chocolate.

• Cream for dessert can be given any taste and color, logs from this will only be more interesting.
